In conjunction with our current exhibition\u00a0Interplay<\/a><\/em>, Susan Eley Fine Art is delighted to announce an intimate artist talk and reception with\u00a0Kathy Osborn<\/a>\u00a0at our\u00a0Hudson location<\/a>\u00a0this Saturday, September 12, from 5-6:30PM. Susan Eley will converse\u00a0with Osborn about her passion for doll houses, storytelling and painting. The talk will begin promptly at 5:30PM.<\/p>\n

Osborn\u2019s cinematic paintings hark back to the 1950s and 60s post-war era–characterized by a boom in wealth, glorified consumerism\u00a0and the practice of traditional domestic roles. This time period has been depicted in art and culture in countless ways, often with a strong sense of longing for \u201csimpler times\u201d. Osborn\u2019s work, however, lacks this nostalgia. She addresses the darkness of the nuclear age that was buried beneath layers of cultural repression.<\/p>\n
