About the\u00a0Readers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Helen Phillips<\/strong> is the author of four books, including the recently released short story collection Some Possible Solutions<\/i>, the novel The Beautiful Bureaucrat <\/i>(a New York Times<\/i>Notable Book and a finalist for the L.A. Times <\/i>Book Prize and the NYPL Young Lions Award), and the collection And Yet They Were Happy (named a notable book by The Story Prize). She is the recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer\u2019s Award and the Italo Calvino Prize. Her work has appeared in the Atlantic<\/i>, the New York Times<\/i> and Tin House<\/i>, and on Selected Shorts<\/i>. An assistant professor at Brooklyn College, she lives in Brooklyn with her husband and children.<\/p>\n

Robert Lopez<\/strong> is the author of two novels, Part of the World<\/i> and Kamby Bolongo Mean River<\/i>, and two story collections, Asunder<\/i> and Good People<\/i>. He teaches at The New School, Pratt Institute, and Columbia University.<\/p>\n

Mark de Silva<\/strong> is the author of the debut novel Square Wave, which was released by Two Dollar Radio in February of 2016. He holds degrees in philosophy from Brown (AB) and Cambridge (PhD). After several years on the editorial staff of the New York Times\u2019s opinion pages, he now freelances for the paper\u2019s Sunday magazine, while also serving as a contributing editor for 3:AM Magazine.<\/p>\n

Vica Miller<\/strong>\u00a0grew up in St. Petersburg (Russia), came to NYC by herself at the age of 20 and has been a New Yorker since. George Plimpton called her a writer, and she believed him. Her first novel, Inga’s Zigzags<\/i><\/a>, was published on May 14, 2014 by Ladno Books.<\/p>\n

Vica has written for\u00a0Vogue Russia<\/a>,\u00a0Internet <\/em>and Tennis Week\u00a0<\/i>magazines. Her \u00a0short stories have appeared in LitroNY<\/i><\/a>,\u00a0The Jet Fuel Review<\/i><\/a>,\u00a0Asymptote<\/a>, The Linnet’s Wings<\/a> and Thrice Fiction<\/a><\/i>\u00a0literary journals. Vica has published a book of poems and is currently at work on her second novel, The Shadow of the Blue Doll<\/i>. She is,\u00a0naturally, the founder of the Vica Miller Literary Salons.<\/div>\n

When not writing fiction, Vica runs communications for\u00a0DataArt<\/a>, a global technology consulting firm.\u00a0Previously, she was a magazine editor, sports marketing director, multimedia producer, TV reporter, art publicist, and CEO of her own multimedia firm.\u00a0\u00a0She launched a New Media course at Hunter College (CUNY), now Integrated Media Arts MFA program, and later taught Public Relations there.<\/div>\n

Vica holds a Master’s degree from ITP –\u00a0Interactive Telecommunications<\/a>\u00a0Program\u00a0at NYU\u2019s Tisch School of the Arts.<\/div>\n
