Amber George employs a variety of techniques including painting, printmaking, collage, photography and sculptural manipulation of the encaustic medium to achieve each of her paintings. A California native, George’s art practice draws upon an affinity for the outdoors. Bold and rich in texture, the balance between the organic and order is a broad theme throughout her work. George employs memories, distorted photocopies, manipulated photos, and textile and pattern to create compositions that layer intuition and experiences of nature. George received her BA in Fine Art from UCLA in 1994. She lives and works outside of San Diego.
